3-axis milling moves the tool along X, Y, and Z and suits flat or prismatic parts. 4-axis adds one rotary axis, so several faces can be machined in one setup. 5-axis adds a second rotary axis to machine complex, multi-surface geometries in fewer setups — protecting tight tolerances and shortening lead times.
