Characteristics and Features (mainly HDPE):

Corresponding CNC Technologies:

CNC Milling: Suitable for creating various shaped parts, cutting grooves, and drilling holes in PE (especially HDPE) sheets or blocks. Sharp cutting tools are needed to avoid burrs.

CNC Turning: Cylindrical parts can be turned from PE (HDPE) stock.

CNC Cutting: Commonly used to cut PE (HDPE) sheets into 2D shapes for signs, fixtures, or lining components.

Notes:

• PE has a large coefficient of thermal expansion, which needs to be considered when machining high-precision parts.
• Due to its flexibility, machining overly thin or highly complex parts can be challenging.
• The adhesive bonding ability of PE is generally poor, so mechanical fastening or heat welding is often preferred.
