What is MC Nylon Standard Grade?
MC Nylon (901) has a blue color and it is the standard grade of this type of engineering plastic. There are special MC Nylon grades such as purple MC703HL (sliding grade with added special lubricant) and brown MC602ST (high strength/heat-resistant grade). At Yumoto Vietnam, we can machine all the above grades of MC Nylon, but the most commonly used material is MC Nylon (901) blue, which we always keep in stock in our material warehouse and can purchase easily from our local material suppliers. The special grades can be imported from Japan, but they are much more expensive than the basic grade
What MC Nylon is available at Yumoto Vietnam?
At Yumoto Vietnam, we can source locally MC Nylon (blue) from Korea. Both plate and rod materials are available, making this material suitable for CNC milling and lathe (turning) machining. For plates, we have thickness ranging from 8mm to 100mm, while for rods we have diameters ranging from φ20mm to φ100mm. We can also source this basic grade MC Nylon in ivory color. The mechanical and chemical properties of the ivory MC Nylon are similar to the blue one. Clients may choose the ivory one for aesthetic purposes, but the cost will be higher. While regular blue MC Nylon costs around 190,000 VND per kilogram (about 7.30 USD per kilogram), the ivory one costs around 300,000 VND per kilogram (about 11.50 USD per kilogram).
Chemical and Physical Properties of MC Nylon
Density: 1.25 g/cm3
Thermal properties/heat resistance: Continuous use of temperature of up to 120 degrees Celsius. Another common engineering plastic POM, in contrast, has continuous use of temperature of around 90~100 degrees Celsius.
Strong chemical resistance: MC Nylon can endure long contact with harsh substances with minimal or no damage to its properties. It is known to be resistant to organic solvents, alkaline chemicals, oils and fats.
High impact resistance: This means that MC Nylon can withstand strong shocks or blows without cracking or deforming permanently.
High machinability: This material is suitable for machining all types of components, but may be difficult to achieve very tight tolerances. Temperature changes can affect dimensions. It also absorbs moisture easily, which can also affect dimensions of the product.
